Ray Ball

Born in Sunderland, and having had a career as a marine engineer

I decided once my two sons had finished their university degrees

I would try something different, and so went on to college to

study Technical Illustration and Design.

This reawakened my love of painting and drawing, something I

hadn't done since my school days. After Graduation I worked as

an illustrator until I retired. I now paint mostly in pastels  and

acrylics from sketches and photographs I've made from the

wealth of inspiration found around the North of England - the sea,

coast - and the great outdoors.-
